HTC One M8 success eases company's financial woes

The success of HTC One M8 smartphone has eased the company's financial woes and helped return it to profitability, Digital Spy reported.

High demand for the Android device saw the Taiwanese firm rake in profits of $92 million from revenue of $2.2 bn during its most recent fiscal quarter.

The figures represent a reversal in fortunes for HTC, which reported a second consecutive operating loss just five months ago.

In an attempt to build on the success of the M8, the phone maker has since launched the budget-friendly One M8 Ace and a new iteration of its One Mini handset.

Meanwhile, the firm is believed to be re-entering the tablet sector by manufacturing the unannounced Nexus 9 for Google.

The HTC One M8 is available in the UK through a range of network providers and high street retailers.
