Komitas Museum to be built in Yerevan

The government approved a resolution to open a Museum-Institute of the great Armenian composer Komitas in Yerevan, Aysor.am reported.

The museum will be built on the grounds of the park named after the great composer. The construction will be sponsored by Pyunik Human Resource Development Fund founded by Syrian Armenian benefactor Gabriel Jemberjian.

Architect Arthur Meschyan is the designer. Construction work is scheduled to finish in late 2014 - to be timed to the 145th anniversary of Komitas’ birth.
