Paris Hopes for Progress in Karabakh Settlement
Official Paris, alongside Washington and Moscow, hopes for advancements in Nagorno Karabakh conflict peaceful settlement, says a release of the French Embassy in Azerbaijan issued on occasion of Azeri president Ilham Aliyev's visit to Paris. Mentioning talks with French president Jacques Chirac and Senate speaker Christian Ponselet within the visit program, Embassy officials state the Nagorno Karabakh problem is on the agenda along with international and regional issues.

Following the meeting of Azeri and Armenian Presidents in Rambouillet on February 10 and 11, France along with other co-chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group increased efforts in order to arrange the next meeting between the parties in early June. To that end high officials of foreign ministries of co-chairing states, as well as co-chairs themselves had visited Baku and Yerevan in late May, reports Trend.
