Amazon's Prime Video to be available in 4K on Samsung TVs in Oct

Amazon's Prime Instant Video service will be available to stream in 4K on compatible Samsung television sets from October, Digital Spy reported.

The Korean manufacturer broke the news on August 28, along with confirmation that Netflix is coming to its European 4K TVs in the same resolution.

"The era of UHD has begun, and to continue even more widespread adoption, it is important to provide consumers with more choices when it comes to UHD content," said Samsung display chief Won Jin Lee.

"We are providing our customers with a wider array of UHD content to enjoy on our ultra-immersive Curved UHD TVs."

Samsung also announced that it will offer 4K content from Wuaki.tv, Chili and Maxdome in Europe from October.

It is yet to be confirmed whether 4K Amazon Prime Instant Video programming will be available on TVs from other manufacturers that month.
