Sofia Vergara named Forbes Highest Paid TV Actress 3rd year in a row

Sofia Vergara is still the top earning TV actress, according to Forbes. The magazine has released the list of The Highest-Paid TV Actresses of 2014 and the Colombia-born star holds tight to the top spot for a third straight year with about $37 million in earnings this past year, AceShowbiz said.

The "Modern Family" star earns $325,000 per episode on the hit ABC show, but she makes more money from lucrative endorsement deals with the likes of Diet Pepsi, CoverGirl, At&T, Head & Shoulders and the medication Synthroid. She's also the co-founder of Latin World Entertainment, a talent management and entertainment-marketing firm.

"Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" star Mariska Hargitay is still No. 2 on the list with $13 million, up $2 million from her earnings in the year before. Kaley Cuoco-Sweeting takes the third spot with $11 million, but the number is expected to rise significantly with her recently-signed deal for "The Big Bang Theory", which is reportedly worth as much as $1 million per episode.

Emmy winner Julianna Margulies, "Grey's Anatomy" longtime cast member Ellen Pompeo and "How I Met Your Mother" vet Cobie Smulders are tied in the fourth place with $10 million each. Smulders' former co-star Alyson Hannigan rounds up the Top 5 with $9.5 million.

The Top 10 actresses on the list this year earned a total of $140 million between June 2013 to June 2014, which is far below the combined $214 million earnings of the Top 10 highest-paid actors this year. The top earning actor Ashton Kutcher, however, didn't earn as much as Vergara with $26 million.
