“50 Shades of Grey” preview most viewed trailer 3rd week in a row

The Fifty Shades train keeps rolling along. For the third straight week, the preview for the movie adaptation of Fifty Shades of Grey, EL James’ bestselling erotic romance novel, was the most-viewed trailer on YouTube, according to technology firm Zefr which tracks the numbers, The Hollywood Reporter said.

The movie, starring Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson, notched 4.2 million views for the week ending Sept. 8. Its cumulative total now stands at 63.7 million views in the seven weeks since tis July 24 release. The movie arrives in theaters Valentine's Day weekend 2015.

The second most-viewed trailer was Seventh Son’s trailer No. 2, which managed to nab 3.7 million views in its debut week.

Other new trailers in the top ten were Dracula Untold’s UK trailer No. 1 with 2.2 million views, good for No. 4 on the top ten list, and the second trailer for Horrible Bosses 2, which landed at No. 6 with 1.8 million views.

In the No. 3 spot was The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge Out of Water trailer No. 1, which had 2.4 million views for a cumulative total of 10.1 million. At No. 5 was the teaser trailer for The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies with 2.08 million views for a running total of 27.5 million YouTube views.

Rounding at the top ten in the No 7-10 spots were Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1, Dracula Untold No. 1, Horns No. 1 and Mad Max: Fury Road’s Comic-Con teaser.

Dropping out of the top ten was last week’s No. 2, Annabelle.
