"Breaking Bad" star Bryan Cranston to join Matt Damon in "The Great Wall"

Bryan Cranston is in early negotiations to star in "The Great Wall" to be directed by Zhang Yimou, AceShowbiz reported citing Deadline. The "Breaking Bad" actor could share screen with Matt Damon who was previously rumored eying the lead role in the dramatized story of the Great Wall construction.

The film depicts the revelation of mystery behind why the Great Wall was built, and the secrets hidden beneath its stones. Set in 15th century China, it follows British warriors who happen upon the hurried construction of the massive wall. As night falls, the warriors realize that the haste in building the wall isn't just to keep out the Mongols - there is something inhuman and more dangerous.

Cranston, 58, was last seen on the big screen in Gareth Edward's "Godzilla". His next projects include "Kung Fu Panda 3" and "Trumbo".
