The game development platform's owners are currently seeking acquisition partners, , Digital Spy said citing a report published on CNET.

Unity is an integrated development environment spanning multiple platforms and used by more than three million registered developers worldwide.

Its marketed highlights include fast and powerful 3D graphic functionality, animation, AI, scripts and SFX.

Virtual reality headset Oculus Rift was recently named an official platform and build target for Unity.
