IRAN STABILITY FACTOR IN SOUTH CAUCASUS, HEAD OF ARMENIAN PARLIAMENTARY COMMISSION CONSIDERS
Iran is a stability factor in the South Caucasian region, the importance of which is hard to overestimate. Chairman of the commission on defense, national security and internal affairs of the Armenian parliament Vahan Hovhannisian stated it in Yerevan at the meeting with members of the Iran-Armenia friendship group of the Iranian Mejlis. He emphasized that everything possible should be done to avoid creation of new boundary lines in the region. Therein the commission head noted the necessity to expand the Armenia-Iran-Russia and Armenia-Iran-Greece relations. Having remarked that the friendly relations with Iran are one of the priorities of the Armenian foreign policy, he emphasized the importance of developing many-sided Armenian-Iranian cooperation both within the bilateral format and within the framework of international structures. "These relations should not be affected by any third party," - V. Hovhannisian said.
