Google rolls out Google Fit health-tracking service for Android

Google has launched its standalone health-tracking service for Android, according to Digital Spy.

Google Fit first appeared on Android Wear and the Nexus 9, but is now available to any Android handset running 4.0 or above.

The platform tracks walking, running and cycling activity, which can be viewed on a dedicated Google Fit website too.

Users can choose to set themselves goals based on their duration or steps, while also providing performance-based recommendations for activity goals.

Third party devices and apps can connect with Google Fit too.

The app is free and available to download from the Google Play store now.
