Justin Long and Emmy Rossum are featured in the first Comet trailer, The Hollywood Reporter said.

In the romantic dramedy, Dell (Long) and Kimberly (Rossum) meet in a universe parallel to ours, as Dell is convinced that they already know each other. The film then tells the story of their six-year romance, bouncing around in chronology.

One scene involves Dell trying to win Kimberly back, despite the fact that she has her flaws. "You still have an AOL account — I don't want to be with a person like that," he tells her.

The film, reminiscent of recent hits Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind and 500 Days of Summer, was written and directed by Sam Esmail. Rossum stars on Showtime's Shameless, while Long was recently seen in Kevin Smith's Tusk.

IFC Films releases Comet on Dec. 5.
