3D printers hacked to create tattoos

3D printers are going one step further and now being used to create tattoos.

Appropriate Audiences has created the Tatoue machine by hacking a MakerBot printer and making it produce any design you like on your arm.

The French group originally set out to make the printer follow lines drawn on a person's skin but it has now been tweaked to follow design files like a 3D printer, , Digital Spy reports citing Springwise.

A tattoo gun is fixed to the printer with a sensor to detect skin curves, ensuring the design is properly replicated while an arm is underneath the gun.

There is also a block on both sides of the arm to ensure it keeps straight as much as possible.

As the machine is in early development, there are currently no plans to make it available commercially, but who knows, you could see it at a tattooist near you in the not-so-distant future.
