Microsoft to hold Windows 10 event in the New Year?

Microsoft looks set to show off more from its next operating system at an event in the New Year.

As Digital Spy reveals citing The Verge, the company will provide a glimpse of the consumer features in Windows 10.

Although Microsoft will be present at 2015's Consumer Electronics Show (CES), it will withhold the biggest parts to show for its own event in late 2015.

Windows 10 was first unveiled at a small event in September, where it was revealed that the largely-expected Windows 9 name would be skipped.

Designed to work across multiple platforms, Windows 10 combines enterprise functionality with consumer features.

A Technical Preview Programme has already been launched, while a full release of Windows 10 is not expected until late 2015.
