HTC One M9 “readying sweeping changes”

HTC's next flagship smartphone the HTC One M9 will be in for sweeping changes if recent reports prove accurate, Digital Spy said.

Chinese media sources are claiming to have obtained specs details for the handset, citing a larger display and a more powerful chipset, PhoneArena reports.

The HTC One M9 will reportedly feature a 5.5-inch QHD display with a 2560 x 1440 resolution, 3GB of RAM, a Snapdragon 805 processor and a hefty 3500 mAh battery.

The report also says the device will include a 16-megapixel camera with optical image stabilisation, suggesting that HTC could be turning its back on UltraPixel technology.

HTC is expected to stick with premium-grade materials for its next flagship, with the HTC One M9's casing said to be made from an aluminium silicon-carbide composite.

The Taiwanese firm is expected to announce the device around the time of the Mobile World Congress next March.
