Warp Records' Gravenhurst, Nick Talbot dies aged 37

Nick Talbot, the musician known as Gravenhurst, has died aged 37, according to Digital Spy.

Warp Records, to which the Bristol artist was signed, announced his passing December 4.

"We are shocked and saddened to share the news that Nick Talbot aka Gravenhurst has passed away aged 37," read a statement by the label.

"An immensely talented singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, record producer and journalist, he will be hugely missed. Nick's family and friends request privacy at this difficult time"

Talbot's manager Michelle Hilborne also released the following: "I am utterly devastated to confirm that Nick Talbot, also known under the performing name Gravenhurst, has passed away aged 37. The finest, most extraordinary and inspirational songwriter, singer and performer, and a remarkable producer and journalist, Nick's work has deeply affected so many people all over the world.

"Outstandingly intelligent, compassionate, fascinating and witty, Nick was the dearest friend and his absence brings indescribable sorrow."

Gravenhurst released five albums in total, beginning with 2001's Internal Travels and ending with 2012's The Ghost in Daylight.

He also set up co-operative label Silent Age Records in 2000 with Bronnt Industries Kapital's Guy Bartell.

Talbot's cause of death has not been confirmed.
