Ameria Group of Companies holds Sport for Life charitable auction

Ameria Group of Companies held its Sport for Life 5th charitable auction on Friday, Dec 12, bringing together famous Armenian and foreign sportsmen, who gifted sportswear and equipment with their autographs.

“During the previous 4 years we have raised AMD 300 million to help over 100 children. This time we chose sports as the theme of our auction, making it a symbol of health,” Ameriabank general director Artak Hanesyan told reporters.

“Thanks to the bank’s social policy, we can save the lives of children suffering from serious illnesses,” he said, adding that he was planning to participate in the action himself to buy boxing gloves or a Formula 1 helmet.

With the assistance of Mega Sport company and Project Hope foundation, over 20 sports items with the autographs of famous sportsmen like Arthur Abraham, Ronda Rousey, Oscar De La Hoya, Alexander Miskirtchian, Youri Djorkaeff, Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Marcos Pizzelli, Roman Berezovsky, as well as exclusive photos of Zinedine Zidane, Pele, Maradona, Usain Bolt and Cristiano Ronaldo.

The sum of AMD 30.600.000 garnered during the auction was doubled by Ameria Group of Companies to total AMD 61.200.000 that will be spent on the treatment of children suffering from idiopathic arthritis, ontological, hematological and other diseases.

Ameria Group of Companies also plans to hold an online auction on Dec 15. Besides annual auctions, employees, partner companies and individuals make donators in the course of the year.
