Gazprom Armenia may revise gas price if AMD rate drop continues

Further depreciation of the Armenian dram against the U.S. dollar may prompt Gazprom Armenia to apply to the Public Services Regulatory Commission (PSRC) for a revision of the gas price following a monitoring, Tert.am said quoting the company’s spokesperson.

“In view of current situation, Gazprom Armenia will be conducting daily monitoring. If the upward trend continues in the months to come, bringing losses to the company, the latter will apply to the Regulatory Commission for a price revision,” Shushan Sardaryan said.

Earlier, Sardaryan reported the gas price to have remained unchanged at the border - $189 per 1,000 cubic meters. Current price was calculated at an exchange rate of $1/AMD 416.5.

Meanwhile, PSRC said to have received no applications for revision of utility tariffs, according to the Commission spokesperson Mariam Stepanyan.
