Armenian and Turkish MFAs Preparing for Recurrent Talks, Ankara Says
The representatives of the Armenian and Turkish Foreign Ministries are preparing for the fourth round of preliminary talks for the normalization of relations, Turkish MFA Spokesman Namik Tan stated at a press conference in Ankara. In his words, the previous three rounds of talks yielded no results and there is little hope for progress now. "Turkey's Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Deniz Baykal, the leader of the Republican People's Party, and the Turkish parliament support Turkey's proposal on formation of a joint commission of Armenian and Turkish historians for the investigation of the Armenian Genocide issue. However the Armenian side has on the contrary boosted the propaganda on Genocide recognition," Tan remarked, reported Turkish media.
