A coalition warplane has crashed near the Islamic State-held northern Syrian city of Raqqa, according to BBC News.
The cause of the crash and the aircraft's identity were unclear, but IS claimed it had shot down a Jordanian fighter jet and captured the pilot.
The jihadist group's supporters posted photographs online purportedly showing the pilot surrounded by armed men.
Jordan is part of a U.S.-led coalition that has been bombing IS positions in Syria for the past three months.
