Sony “to roll out large-screen Xperia Z4 Tablet Ultra in early 2015”

Sony is reportedly planning to launch a large-screen tablet in the first half of 2015 to compete with the Surface Pro 3 and Apple's rumoured iPad Pro.

The device will measure in at 8.6mm thick, and feature a 12.9-inch 3840 x 2400 display, an 8-megapixel camera and a Qualcomm processor, Digital Spy said citing DigiTimes.

The listed specs match up with those cited for the Sony Xperia Z4 Tablet Ultra tablet, which was leaked in mid-December.

The report claims that the tablet is about to enter mass production at Pegatron Technology, a company that has previously handled iPad and Surface Pro development.

It is claimed that Sony's super-sized tablet will be priced at around $1,000 when it arrives on the market in 2015.

Sony has already hinted that it is planning to launch new Android hardware at CES 2015 next month, but the form it will take is yet to be confirmed.
