"Jane Got a Gun" starring Natalie Portman and Joel Edgerton has finally released its first stills. Portman stars as a woman who is asking her ex-lover Edgerton's help as her outlaw husband Noah Emmerich is targeted by a gang, AceShowbiz said.

In the first photos from the movie, Portman can be seen pointing a gun at someone. Another snap of the "Thor" actress shows her wearing a patterned shirt and a black hat. A third photo shows a man being burned in big fire, while another picture shows a group of men who apparently are on guard.

"Jane Got a Gun" which also stars Ewan McGregor, Rodrigo Santoro and Boyd Holbrook among others has been facing some setbacks. Michael Fassbender was originally set to play the ex-lover and Edgerton as the gang leader. The "X-Men" star quit due to scheduling conflicts, and some stars like Jude Law and Bradley Cooper were also linked to the movie before dropping out. The Western flick also lost a director once before signing Gavin O'Connor as the helmer. It is finally set for release in the U.S. on September 4.
