Motorola teases more customizable smartwatch devices

Motorola has hinted that its future smartwatches will be more customizable, Digital Spy reveals.

The firm's chief operating officer Rick Osterloh said that the firm's Moto Maker personalisation service "could be" applied to wearable devices.

"We have no major announcements in this area, but I think your intuition is very good," he told reporters at a CES press conference when asked whether customisation features could be added to devices like the Moto 360.

"We consider this to be the power alley of our strategy," he added. "We're driving toward consumer choice because we think as these become more personal devices, this becomes increasingly important."

The Moto Maker is an online service that enables Moto X owners to customise their device, adding their own choice of colours and engravings.

On the commercial performance of the Moto 360 watch, Osterloh did not divulge specific sales figures but said the device has "exceeded expectations".
