Nikon rolls out trio of Coolpix cameras

Nikon has expanded its compact camera range with a trio of new Coolpix snappers, Digital Spy said.

The Coolpix S3700 spearheads the line with WiFi and NFC connectivity for syncing with mobile devices, and a 20-megapixel CCD image sensor on board.

The camera also features an 8x Nikkor optical zoom lens - extendable to 16x with the Dynamic Fine Zoom3 digital technology - a panorama assist mode, and HD video recording.

Priced at £99.99, the Coolpix S3700 is available in black, silver, red, pink, blue, purple and blue colour options.

The Coolpix S2900 comes with the same 20-megapixel CCD sensor and many of the same features as the range-topping device, but its lens is a 5x Nikkor optical zoom, with 10x digital zoom.

The mid-range offering is exclusive to Argos in the UK, launching in black, silver, red and purple colour options with a stylised design. It also costs £99.99.

Rounding off the new cameras, the Coolpix L31 is a more affordable offering at £79.99, packing a 16-megapixel CCD sensor with 5x Nikkor optical zoom lens.

It also provides HD video recording and runs off AA batteries.
