Samsung rolls out Galaxy Tab 4 Education to aid learning

Samsung has announced new hardware geared towards the classroom in the form of the Galaxy Tab 4 Education and the eBoard, Digital Spy reports.

Aimed at teachers and students, the Galaxy Tab 4 Education is powered by a quad-core processor and comes with 16GB of memory and microSD support.

It runs Android 4.4 KitKat and has multi-window capabilities, allowing users to run two applications at once.

The Galaxy Tab 4 Education also features a 3-megapixel camera on the rear and a 1.3-megapixel sensor on the front.

Samsung is showcasing the tablet at this week's education-focused BETT show, alongside its eBoard with integrated touch and Magic IWB 3.0.

The eBoard is an 82-inch display with touchscreen capabilities designed to aid learning. It syncs with other devices to allow students and teachers to share their documents and media.

Teachers can monitor and control students' devices using the Magic IWB Agent software, which must be installed on the hardware handed to pupils.

Samsung also aims to highlight the educational potential of its Gear VR virtual reality headset at London-based BETT.
