France arrests 4 in anti- jihadist action

Four men were arrested on Tuesday, Jan 27, by special police forces in the southern French town of Lunel in an action aimed at breaking up jihadist networks, a police source said, according to Reuters.

Two of them were returnees from Syria, the source said.

The town of Lunel, in the Herault region, has attracted attention after local media reports that as many as 10 residents have sought to travel to Syria to fight alongside Islamists.

Midi Libre newspaper said the people being held were caught in a raid by the GIPN special forces.
