Angelina Jolie rumored for "Captain Marvel" superhero flick hemer

"Captain Marvel" may have found its director. According to a new report, Angelina Jolie is being considered for a position behind the lens in the upcoming Marvel movie. The report published in February issue of OK magazine suggests that people behind the female-led superhero movie are interested in Jolie following her work in "Unbroken" and have offered her $20 million for the directing job, AceShowbiz reveals.

"Having a female director is a priority for them," a source told the magazine. "She [Jolie] never thought she'd be in such huge demand as a director, and to be courted by Marvel after the Sony fiasco is a huge pat on the back." The later part of the comment refers to leaked emails between Sony co-chair Amy Pascal and producer Scott Rudin in which Pascal called Jolie "minimally talented spoiled brat."

Jolie made director debut with 2011's "In the Land of Blood and Honey". "Unbroken" is currently up for Cinematography, Sound Editing and Sound Mixing trophies at the upcoming 2015 Academy Awards. She also serves as a director and stars in a drama "By the Sea". Also featuring Brad Pitt, the movie is set for release in the U.S. later this year.
