Alabama Shakes announce details of new album, “Sound & Color”

Heartfelt rock and soul outfit Alabama Shakes have announced that their new album Sound and Color will be released on 20 April, Digital Spy reports.

Two out of the twelve tracks have now been revealed and are available for listening pleasure. The band co-produced the record with Blake Mills (who has worked with Norah Jones, Conor Oberst and Lana Del Rey) and recorded the project in Nashville at the Sound Emporium studio.

Speaking of the process, powerhouse vocalist Brittany Howard said: “We took our time to write this record, and I’m really glad we did. We were able to sit down and think about what’s exciting to us. This record is full of genre-bending songs.”

Alabama Shakes are set to play Islington Assembly Hall on February 19th as part of the NME Awards Shows 2015 with Austin, Texas.
