Samsung's Galaxy Tab S2 “slimmer than iPad Air 2”

Samsung's Galaxy Tab S2 will reportedly measure in slimmer than the iPad Air 2, Digital Spy reports.

Rumours website SamMobile claims to have heard from an inside source that the slate will undercut its rival's 6.1mm proportions.

The report also claims that the next-generation tablet will be offered in smaller size options - 8.0-inch and 9.7-inch, compared to its 8.4-inch and 10.5-inch predecessors.

Samsung is rumoured to be shunning widescreen ratios with its 2015 tablet lineup, instead favouring the 4:3 screen format.

Purported design changes were also divulged, with the Galaxy Tab S2 said to sport a metal trim around the edges like some of the latest Galaxy phones.

A release date for the Samsung Galaxy Tab S successor is yet to be announced.
