Zack Snyder has posted the first image showing Jason Momoa in the role of Aquaman, Digital Spy reports.

The Batman v Superman director shared the photo on Twitter with the caption: "There is only one true King. #unitetheseven"

Momoa is expected to debut Aquaman in Snyder's Batman v Superman movie before going solo in summer 2018.

The actor, who is known for his role as Khal Drogo in Game of Thrones, has been contracted to play the DC superhero in four Warner Bros films.

The first standalone Aquaman movie is yet to find a director, although recent reports suggest Jeff Nichols could be in line.
