Panasonic rolls out Viera CR850 curved TV

Panasonic has entered the curved TV market with the launch of its Viera CR850 sets, according to Digital Spy.

The sets will feature 4K LED Wide Colour Phosphor panels, allowing them to display High Dynamic Range and a wider colour gamut than standard displays.

Coming in 55-inch and 65-inch formats, Viera CR850 TVs are said to offer brighter visuals than Samsung's quantum dot line, with a 47% increase in power efficiency.

The televisions run off a 4K Studio Master Processor, and include 1600Hz motion, adaptive backlight dimming, and Mozilla's Firefox OS smart TV operating system.

The Viera CR850 sets will be joined on the market by the CX800, which offers many of the same hardware features minus the curved screen.

Panasonic is yet to announce a release date for its Viera CR850 TVs.
