Foo Fighters named Best International Band at the BRIT Awards

Foo Fighters have continued their incredible 2015, taking home the award for Best International Band at the BRITs, Gigwise reports.

The band beat The War On Drugs, Black Keys, First Aid Kit and Five Seconds Of Summer to take home the prize, continuing their run of good luck off the back of their hugely successful album and documentary, Sonic Highways.

The band weren't in attendance to accept their award from comedian John Bishop, but frontman Dave Grohl had this to say:

"Hello everybody, thank you for this award. We're in California so thank you for this award. We're happy to accept it and we're very proud to be holding this beautiful little statue right now...see you around."

A man of unusually few words for the often outspoken Grohl.

As well as recently being named headliners of Glastonbury, their upcoming UK tour dates are below.

MAY 25th – Sunderland – Stadium Of Light plus Kaiser Chiefs 27th – Manchester – Emirates Old Trafford plus Teenage Fanclub JUNE 19th & 20th – London, Wembley Stadium plus Iggy Pop and Royal Blood 23rd – Edinburgh, BT Murrayfield Stadium plus Royal Blood 26th – Glastonbury Festival.
