Samsung's Galaxy S6 boasts “world's best smartphone display”

Samsung's Galaxy S6 boasts the world's best smartphone display, independent research suggests, according to Digital Spy.

A study by DisplayMate has concluded that the 2560 x 1440 screen on Samsung's new flagship outshines its counterpart on previous record-holder the Galaxy Note 4.

The Galaxy S6's 577ppi panel scored "very good to excellent" ratings in all of the organisation's tests, and broke records in several categories.

The handset is said to tout a higher screen resolution, higher pixels per inch, higher absolute colour accuracy, higher peak brightness, and higher screen readability in ambient light than any other smartphone on the market.

DisplayMate also claims that the Galaxy S6 Edge performed on par with the standard edition, despite its curved Super AMOLED technology being in its infancy.
