Spokesman: Putin likely to visit Armenia last week of April

Russian leader Vladimir Putin is likely to visit Armenia in the last week of April.

“The visit of President Putin to Yerevan is on the agenda. The trip is being prepared and discussed," presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov said.

"As soon as the precise date is determined and confirmed, we will inform you immediately,” TASS cited him as saying.

In early March, President Serzh Sargsyan had a phone conversation with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin.

The leaders of the two countries discussed key partnership issues and exchanged views on further deepening of integration processes after Armenia’s accession to the Eurasian Economic Union.

Sargsyan and Putin also discussed issues in the sector of oil and gas, as well as peaceful use of nuclear energy.

The Presidents also agreed on the schedule of their future meetings within the framework of joint participation in the events dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide and the 70th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War.
