Egyptian court acquits ex-Interior Minister of graft charges

An Egyptian court acquitted former Interior Minister Habib el-Adly of graft charges on Thursday, March 19, judicial sources said, the latest ruling to clear prominent figures from the era of President Hosni Mubarak, who was ousted in the 2011 revolt, Reuters reported.

El-Adly, who was charged with illegal profiting and squandering public funds of 181 million Egyptian pounds ($23.72 million), was acquitted along with former Prime Minister Ahmed Nazif in a separate graft case.
