Vine video app gets speed boost on iPhone

Vine promises to be much faster on iPhone as the service now preloads videos before the user opens the app, Digital Spy reports.

The latest update to the Twitter-owned service has introduced network caching, making some clips available offline.

Vine now preloads videos from the user's timeline and the Explore section as well as their notifications, benefiting those with a slow internet connection.

Video file sizes have been reduced to facilitate the change.

"Now, when you open Vine, you'll see that posts show up more quickly, even if you have a slower internet connection or if you're offline, like on the subway or in airplane mode," said the Vine team in a blog post.

Vine says that Android users can expect to receive the update in the near future.
