Apple recruiting experts to improve battery life of future iPhones

Apple is apparently recruiting a team of experts to improve the battery life of future iPhones.

Recent job listings posted by the firm include an 'iOS Battery Life Software Engineer', an 'iOS Power Analytics Manager' and an 'iOS Software Power Systems Engineer'.

The summaries for each role indicate that the successful applicants will be tasked with extending battery life for iOS products, Digital Spy reports citing AppleInsider.

The firm is also seeking a 'Battery Firmware Development Manager', who could be responsible for spearheading research into more efficient MacBook batteries.

Apple could be launching a recruitment drive as the development of the iPhone 6S reaches a critical stage.

The Cupertino firm has been tipped to launch two handsets in September, alongside its new flagship - the larger iPhone 6S Plus and the plastic-coated iPhone 6C.
