George R.R. Martin unveils excerpt from new book “Winds of Winter”

The new "A Song of Ice and Fire" book won't be coming anytime soon, but George R.R. Martin has shared a teaser from the highly anticipated sixth novel, "The Winds of Winter". The author released on his website a chapter from the highly anticipated book told from the perspective of Sansa Stark.

The excerpt which contains spoilers for "Game of Thrones" fans focuses on Alayne, the alias of Sansa while she's living with Lord Baelish a.k.a. Littlefinger in the Vale. The last time Martin wrote a chapter from Sansa's point of view was in the fourth novel, "A Feast for Crows".

Martin has recently said that he would not be writing for season 6 of "Game of Thrones" to focus on completing his book. Still, the new book likely won't arrive in 2015.

Co-showrunner David Benioff previously confirmed that the TV series would outpace the books, but it would not happen in the upcoming fifth season just yet.
