The Apple Watch's software lineup will include a role-playing game called Runeblade at launch, according to Digital Spy.

Developed by Everywear Games, the title is a fantasy adventure with a simplistic interface and short-burst gameplay tailored for the wearable.

Runeblade swerves the issue of the Apple Watch's limited battery life by serves players with five to 15 second of gameplay every so often.

Users will play the game over the course of several months in short sittings, rather than play through it within hours.

Runeblade will not be the only game available on the Apple Watch at launch, with TheCodingMonkeys' brain-training puzzler Rules! also coming to the wearable.

Pre-orders for the Apple Watch commenced on April 10 ahead of the device's release on April 24.
