Jack White to a break from performing "for a long period of time"

Jack White will take a break from performing live "for a long period of time", Digital Spy reports.

The former White Stripes star has announced that his final shows will consist of a short acoustic tour of the five U.S. states he hasn't yet performed in.

"After many years of performing in a multitude of configurations, Jack is announcing that he will be taking a break from performing live for a long period of time," a statement on White's website read.

White will be joined by an acoustic quartet including Fats Kaplin, Lillie Mae Rische and Dominic Davis for the last remaining shows .

The location of the performances won't be announced until the day, with tickets costing $3 and being limited to one per person.

Meanwhile, White will take to the stage for the second leg of Coachella on April 18.

The musician released his last solo album Lazaretto last year, with the record reaching number one in the U.S. and four in the UK.
