Samsung has offered a glimpse of its next smartwatch - unsurprisingly on the day the Apple Watch is launched, Digital Spy reports.

And from the looks of things, the next Gear wearable from the company is going to be rounded.

The image came as Samsung released its wearable software development kit, which will enable any developer to build apps for its upcoming device for the first time.

In reaching out to developers, it would appear that Samsung is going for its own Tizen-based OS once again, instead of Google's Android Wear.

CNN, Yelp, Baidu, FidMe and Apposter are shown on the image, so it's safe to assume they have already developed apps for the device.

There are already some rounded smartwatches on the market, including the LG G Watch Urbane and Motorola's Moto 360.
