GUAM Going to Introduce Item on Conflicts in UN Agenda
The Ukrainian delegation at the session of the UN General Assembly along with its GUAM partners will work for introduction of a new item in the agenda: protracted armed conflicts in GUAM region and their consequences for international peace, security and development, Ukrainian MFA Press Service head Andrey Deschitsa stated in Kiev.

In his words, GUAM countries have arranged and submitted a respective memorandum to the UN Secretary-General, grounding the proposal on inclusion of the issue in the session agenda. «The Ukrainian party proceeds from the point that implementation of the initiative will promote further focusing of international community's attention on the need to activate efforts to settle frozen conflicts in territories of our partners: Azerbaijan, Georgia and Moldova. In case of positive consideration of the issue by the General Committee, the GUAM countries intend to propose a respective draft resolution in the UN,» the Ukrainian MFA Spokesperson said, reports Trend.
