Josh Hutcherson topline James Franco drama “The Long Home”

Josh Hutcherson will star in the upcoming James Franco-directed drama “The Long Home,” TheWrap said citing an individual with knowledge of the project.

Hutcherson is best known for the role of Peeta Mellark, Katniss Everdeen’s fellow tribute in “The Hunger Games” franchise.

The film is based on the William Gay novel of the same name. Set in 1940s Tennessee, a young man (Hutcherson) finds himself working for the very bootlegger who killed his father 10 years earlier. This marks the second collaboration for Hutcherson and Franco, as Franco cast Hutcherson in his adaptation of the John Steinbeck novel “In Dubious Battle.”

Franco may star in “The Long Home” as well as direct. He is producing under his Rabbit Bandini banner alongside Jay Davis and Vince Jolivette. Robert Halmi Jr. and Jim Reeve are executive producing.

Hutcherson will next appear in the “The Hunger Games: Mockingjay-Part 2” in November.
