Sweden’s Left Party has initiated the inclusion of materials on the 1915 Armenian Genocide and the genocide of Assyrians and Pontic Greeks into school textbooks, Foreign Affairs spokesperson for the Left Party Hans Linde said.

As Panorama.am reports citing Horizon Weekly, Linde said that in order to prevent new genocides, it is necessary to recognize the past atrocities and keep the wide masses aware about these crimes.

The Swedish parliament recognized the Armenian Genocide on March 11, 2010.
