Russia, Armenia ink deal to open joint rescue center

The Emergency Situations Ministers of Armenia and Russia on Tuesday, May 19 inked an intergovernmental agreement on the opening of Armenian-Russian Center for Humanitarian Response.

As Russian Minister Vladimir Puchkov noted, the center will have necessary equipment to respond to major emergencies including earthquakes, floods or technogeneous emergencies.

As Russian media report, the new center will be located in the Armenian town of Getargel. The center will enable to effective response to emergency situations in the border areas of Armenia and Russia as well as third countries.
