Two Uber bosses arrested in France amid protests

Two Uber France bosses have been arrested following the Paris protests against the company last week, Digital Spy reports.

Uber's director general Thibaud Simphal and its director for Western Europe Pierre-Dimitri Gore Coty have now been taken into police custody.

UberPOP was made illegal in France in January, but it continues to operate.

A raid previously took place on Uber's Paris offices in March, which saw documents and computers seized.

Licensed taxi drivers protested in Paris last week after claiming that Uber was jeopardising their jobs.

Courtney Love claimed that she was "scared out of her wits" after being caught up in the anti-Uber protests.

The singer and actress's taxi was hit with metal bats, rocks and eggs during her journey, as she tried to make her way to the centre of Paris.
