The Turkish Prime Minister’s office has set up a coordination center for operations against the Islamic State (IS) and the outlawed Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK), following the deadly jihadist attack in the border town of Suruc on Monday, July 20.

The airstrikes that hit IS locations in Syria were coordinated between the centers in the Prime Minister’s office and the Turkish General Staff operations division, an anonymous sources at the PM’s office were quoted as saying on Friday, according to Hurriyet Daily News.

The coordination center is headed by Undersecretary Kemal Madenoğlu and has the involvement of officials from the police, gendarmerie, Justice Ministry, Interior Ministry, Foreign Affairs Ministry, the intelligence service and the General Staff.

The coordination center will be used to share information on the identities of the Suruc bombing victims, burial procedures, finding the perpetrators and following-up on other recent terror acts including the killing of two police officers in Ceylanpınar, the killing of one police officer in Diyarbakır and the killing of one soldier in an IS attack in Kilis.
