Samsung introduces monitor with mobile wireless charging

Samsung has introduced the SE370 monitor with integrated mobile wireless charging.

Available in a 23.6-inch or 27-inch model, the monitor is compatible with all mobile devices using the Qi wireless charging standard—recently adopted by Swedish home store Ikea, PCMag reports.

The wireless charging pad built into the bottom of the SE370 allows for easy access and eliminates the need for tangles of wires and clogged charging ports: just place the handset on the circular area to initiate charging, which will be confirmed by an LED light.

But Samsung's new desktop monitor is more than a one-trick pony: it also promises comfortable viewing, superior picture quality, an improved gaming experience, and energy efficiency, PCMag says. Built for use over extended periods of time, the SE370's eye-saver mode and flicker-free function reduce eye strain, as well as the effects of blue light.

Avid gamers, meanwhile, can benefit from the monitor's AMD FreeSync technology, which minimizes input latency and reduces lag during playback. Turn on game mode to correct blurry images, enhance colors, and alter contrast for better visibility.

Samsung has also taken the environment (and wallet) into consideration, boasting an Eco Saving Plus function that reduces energy consumption by about 10 percent.
