The situation at the Armenian-Azerbaijani border and the contact line with Nagorno Karabakh is under control, despite Azerbaijan’s attempts to create tension, Armenian Defense Minister Seyran Ohanyan said, according to Panorama.am.

Briefing on the situation at the government’s session Thursday, Aug 13, Ohanyan said the Armenian armed forces maintained ceasefire during the European Games, and moreover, showed restraint.

“Our neighbors are trying to earn political or economic dividends. They violate ceasefire, using assault rifles and grenade launchers. Azerbaijan even launched border penetration attempts in recent days, which we successfully prevented,” Ohanyan said.
