Sony rolls out Metal Gear walkman, tablet and more

Sony and Konami are going all out to promote Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain, teaming up to release a new range of electrical products based on the upcoming game, Digital Spy reports.

Fans with money to burn can pick up a Metal Gear 5-themed ZX2 Walkman, which is available in Japan for 140,000 yen ($1125).

The high-end music player is adorned with the Metal Gear 5 logo on the front, while the Outer Heaven logo decorates the back of the device and its leather case.

It comes with a number of Metal Gear songs pre-installed, as well as wallpapers and an Outer Heaven box.

Fans can also pick up Metal Gear 5-themed Xperia tablets and smartphones.

As with the Walkman, these are decorated with Metal Gear and Outer Heaven logos, and also feature pre-installed items such as songs and artbooks.

Sony previously announced a Metal Gear 5 limited edition PS4, which is inspired by Snake's bionic arm.

Meanwhile, the DualShock 4 controller is metallic grey, and is modelled after Snake's handgun.

Both the console and controller feature a logo for Diamond Dogs, which is the private military organisation led by Snake.

The Phantom Pain will be available on September 1 for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC.
