Melissa McCarthy celebrates “girl power” in “Ghostbusters” set pic

Melissa McCarthy wants to show the world that her upcoming movie "Ghostbusters" has a great "girl power." The actress who portrays one of the Ghostbusters members posted a photo on Twitter which features herself, Kristen Wiig, Leslie Jones and Kate McKinnon posing with the many "remarkable women" who work on the movie, AceShowbiz reports.

"3 cheers to @theellenshow from all the remarkable women of #ghostbusters. When we stand together we are unstoppable! #girlpower," so reads the caption of the photo. There are more than fifty women in the photo. They all smile while holding papers which show their job description. "Saturday Night Live" star Cecily Strong also appears in the photo along with the four leading stars, prop stylists, hair and makeup artists, stunt doubles, set decorator and more.

McCarthy also gave reference to Ellen Degeneres' girl power-themed clothing campaign which highlights strong women and encourages them to do great things without conforming to gender stereotypes. Shortly after the photo was uploaded, DeGeneres responded to McCarthy's photo by retweeting it and adding caption, "This just made my day."

The upcoming reboot centers on Abby Bergmanone (McCarthy) and Erin Gilber (Wiig), who reunite with two other wranglers (Jones and McKinnon) to fight against ghosts when they invade Manhattan. Chris Hemsworth, who plays the secretary for the group, recently announced that he had completed his part in the movie. The comedy movie is slated for a release in North America on July 22, 2016.
